James. Dude. RVA. Musician. 1. Obsessive tweeter. 2. Occasional blogger. 3. Obsessed with music. I play guitar for Postcards. I play bass for Aftermath. I love my friends but I feel like i'm becoming more reclusive by the day.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Boxer - “Contempt”
Boxer - “Weight”
Conditions - “Wonderful Lie”
Full Of War will be out in a few days. Buy it. It’s so good.
It’s been a while since we’ve used this. To be honest, we forgot we even had this despite the fact that I use my personal Tumblr 25 out of 24 hours of the day. Get the joke? Yeah, fuck you.
Anyway, since the last time we used this, we parted ways with our singer, James Henderson. James is a great…
This is the band I play guitar for. Apparently we have a Tumblr. Follow us!
Down To Nothing - “Serve And Neglect”
Never there, never care
Ask for help you laugh you sit and stare
Serve and protect, you abuse and neglect
Talk down to me like your god’s gift I don’t owe you any respect
Don’t let them fool you they’re no friend to you
They’ll walk across your face to just get to you
Don’t care about you or me
Give up so easily
No getting through to them
Nothing for them to see
Stabbed in the face and in the chest and get nothing at all
But you can get three years for writing on a fucking wall
I can’t believe all the things you waste your time
Investigate a pointless case to cover up the city’s real problems
See through you, don’t trust you
Abuse your power put them down to keep your ego higher
Got to make up for everything you never were
Won’t give you anything
Don’t deserve what you get
You don’t know a fucking thing it’s time you got your facts straight
We don’t owe a fucking thing and we won’t be the ones to pay
Don’t know a fucking thing
We don’t owe a fucking thing.

Seraph - “Purification”
Some of my closest friends in Seraph just released a new song tonight. Check that shit out if you like legit fucking metal.
Fire rained from the sky
Whispered prayers become tormented screams
Tears of blood spew from the child's eyes
Today is the last day of peace
Last day of peace
Boiling waves crash into paradise
Greed and sin will be washed away
A cleansing of the disease that grew to large
Decomposing flesh bring life for the new age
Greed and sin, washed away
Witness the
DeEvolution
A purification
Of greed and hate
An abortion of a failed creation
A creation
We were giving this precious gift
The freedom to control our fate.

Worn In Red - “Let It Gnaw”
Banshees was released recently on No Idea. Check it out. It fucking rules. They’re seriously one of the best bands in Virginia.

These are the next three shows we have booked as of right now. The first of the three is in less than a week.
August 10, 2012: Gallery 5 with Caseracer, Reservoir and Volunteer. Caseracer and Reservoir are both on tour and Volunteer is a new band from here with dudes from Landmines, Brainworms, Sixer, etc. We may have our new shirts by this show. We’ll definitely have new stickers and we may or may not play a new song.
August 25, 2012: Kingdom with He Is Legend, I Am The Kid and Arabia Terra. This is the first time He Is Legend has played in Richmond in years. Come hang out! We’ll have tickets for this sometime soon.
October 24, 2012: The Camel with Lowtalker, Arms Aloft, This Is Your Life and Of Want And Misery. The flier says that Lowtalker has ex-members of Misery Signals and Comeback Kid. Actually, they’re still current members of both bands. It’s actually two dudes from Comeback Kid, one dude from Misery Signals and an ex-member of Misery Signals and Living With Lions. Also, check out Arms Aloft and This Is Your Life. As the flier says, Arms Aloft are from Wisconsin. This Is Your Life is currently one of the best bands in town. Their new full length just dropped on Glass Nail. Check it out. This show will definitely rule. Come hang out and be dudes and shit.
We have other shows pending as well. More info will be given as we get it.
Naysayer - “Think Twice”
A choice I made because it works for me
Cut out the things in life - I don’t need
Make decisions based on what you think
Not what others tell you to believe
Why waste your time?
Use your own mind
What would you do?
If someone wasn’t there to tell you
Could you figure it out for yourself?
Or do you rely on their help?

This Is Your Life - “Anchor”
Richmond, VA has always been known for having a lot of great bands. This Is Your Life may be one of the best around right now. Their new record, Before We Fade Away, was just released on their Bandcamp page about an hour ago. The vinyl will be out in September on Glass Nail. Check this out. It’s legit as fuck.
Buildings will fall all around me
The darkness will come
The tension’s been stirring inside me
These regrets hit home
And we will take what we can get, while still searching for glowing lights
And we will burn ever bright, like stars exploding across the sky
I don’t think I want to know, how it feels to let it go, no matter the reason
I don’t think I’m ready for sleepless nights spent on the floor, no matter the reason
There are options in our lives
Paths to follow open wide
So much confusion, so much self-doubt
Embrace the journey, burn it down
We all believe that we’ll find what we’re searching for
We all believe that the coastline is just out of sight.

Aftermath - “Bloodlust”
Turn around and walk away
The hurt you’ve caused the lives you take
Soon you’ll breathe your final breath
A memory just like the rest
Now you have become the prey
This is your chance your time to change
The souls you take will follow you down now
This is my chance I’ll raise an army
You will see you’re nothing without me
Turn around and walk away
The hurt you’ve caused the lives you take
Soon you’ll breathe your final breath
A memory just like the rest
Now is my chance to bring the war to you
Now will you walk away
From the hurt…the pain
I will take your fucking life
I won’t stand for it now
Grab your arms and follow me down now
Down to the gates of hell
We’ll grab the ones we’ve loved
And now we’ve made our stand, we’ve claimed our day
We found a light, we found our faith
We changed ourselves, we changed today
Slaves no more, we’re free today
This is our kingdom now.
One of my two bands, Aftermath, just released the first single from our upcoming ep, The Start Of A Revolution, and we just made a Tumblr and a Bandcamp page. Follow us if you want. Thanks.

Our first show is on October 8th with Lions Lions, My Enemies & I and more tba. More info (including venue) will be available as I figure it out/remember it. We’re also playing Helloween this year, which will be at Kingdom with a billion other bands on October 26th. Cool.
Hold Tight! - “Graduation Day”
The morning’s ringing in my ears.
Get up and get out of your head.
I swear it’s been this way for years, but I’d be lying to myself if I said I haven’t changed.
Every day that goes by, less of me remains.
Get up and get out of your head.
But I skinned both my knees from too much time spent on the ground. I’ll stand back and watch them bleed while I figure all this out.
And all I learned is that I learned nothing.
I’ll keep making my mistakes but I can never stay the same.
I don’t think that I am afraid to die, but I’m fucking terrified of not living.
I never remember that nothing lasts forever.
